The Retail and Commercial sectors have seen substantial changes in the last decade, driven by consumer demand and evolving technology. KDC advises both national and international retailers, asset managers and developers across the full spectrum of project scoping, planning, approvals management and delivery.  



KDC has been involved in an extensive number of planning related activities in relation to the relevant due diligence, approval strategy advice and subsequent development applications / approvals for new and upgraded McDonald’s throughout NSW.


KDC has undertaken a diverse range of planning related approval activities for a significant number of Caltex fuel sites, these include rezoning applications, new store DA’s including new UPSS and onsite remediation, change of use / fit out and signage.


KDC is currently co-ordinating the planning and approvals management for the ALDI Refresh State-wide rollout for Stores all across NSW.



KDC has been working with Westpac for more than 4 years, to provide planning advice and co-ordinate the nationwide rollout for the Westpac Refresh. The Westpac Refresh rollout includes both internal refurbishment and external updates, updating shopfront facades and signage. From the outset of these projects KDC has provided planning advice, prepared DA’s/Planning Permit Applications, and successfully managed approvals for NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA and NT.

7-11 / Starbucks

KDC works with both 7-11 convenience and petrol retail and Starbucks to provide planning advice and co-ordinate various scopes of works including; new stores, modifications, change of use, internal and external fitouts, re-tanks and signage alterations and additions. 

Phoenix Signage (7/11)

KDC is currently engaged to carry out the national approvals management by Phoenix Signage who manage the nationwide rollout of the upgrades to the current scrolling poster sign to digital LED displays.

Isaac Property Developments

IPD are Australia’s leading developers of Service Stations, Fast Food and Child Care. KDC and Isaac Property Developments (IPD) have been working closely together since 2013, co-ordinating the approvals management of IPD projects and together KDC and IPD have strong relationships with various retailers allowing early identification of sites that are suitable for these uses. 


KDC is currently engaged by Decathlon Australia to provide ongoing planning advice and approvals strategy works for their expansion into the Australian retail market.
